Behavioral Framework Acquires ATEC

Maryland-based Behavioral Framework, backed by Renovus Capital, announced it is acquiring Autism Education & Therapy Center (AETC), which operates in Tennessee and Arizona. The transaction adds AETC’s five autism clinics to Behavioral Framework’s footprint and reflects continued consolidation across autism and broader IDD services. No financial terms were disclosed.

Deal Scope And Service Lines

AETC operates five autism clinics that provide ABA therapy and diagnostic services. Under the deal, AETC’s leadership and staff will remain in place. Behavioral Framework stated AETC will gain access to its operational infrastructure, technology platforms, and growth support. The partnership was presented as a values-driven expansion intended to “extend high-quality autism services to more families,” while retaining AETC’s clinical culture.

Consolidation Trend In Autism And IDD Services

This acquisition is one of several recent consolidations in autism and IDD services noted by industry press. Provider organizations are seeing private equity–backed groups actively acquiring regional providers to scale services. These moves can change competitive dynamics in local markets, particularly for independent providers that may now compete with larger networks that have centralized operations and broader growth capacity.
