Ohio Medicaid grants invest $6.9M in programs

Ohio’s Medicaid managed care plans have launched the second year of a collaborative community reinvestment initiative, allocating $6.9 million to nonprofits across Athens and Cuyahoga counties. This effort aligns with Ohio’s Next Generation Medicaid Managed Care framework, where all eight Medicaid health plans pool funds to support projects targeting social determinants of health.

The Community Reinvestment Collaborative Plan directs resources to nonprofits addressing key areas such as behavioral health, housing stability, workforce development, and early childhood services. Recipients include organizations working on homelessness prevention, school-based health expansions, and community resource hubs. This coordinated approach aims to bridge health equity gaps beyond traditional clinical care by investing in community-defined priorities.
