Virginia providers will see a significant update in how they submit fee-for-service (FFS) authorizations for Acentra Health starting January 1, 2026. Instead of logging in directly to the Atrezzo Next Generation (ANG) system, providers must access authorizations through the Medicaid Enterprise Solution (MES) Provider Portal.

Transition to single sign-on platform

The new process integrates Acentra authorizations into MES’s broader digital infrastructure. Providers will log in once via MES using a single sign-on (SSO) to manage multiple Medicaid-related functions, streamlining workflows under a unified provider account. This consolidation aims to improve efficiency and reduce repetitive system access steps.

To ease the transition, a soft-launch phase will allow providers to use either the MES portal or continue direct ANG access temporarily. After this period, direct logins to ANG will be disabled, and users attempting to access ANG independently will be redirected to MES.

Preparing for the cutover

IDD providers and agencies currently using ANG to submit authorizations must complete their migration to MES ahead of the 2026 deadline. All users and provider locations should be properly registered within MES to maintain uninterrupted system access after the cutover.

DMAS will provide ongoing updates and training materials as part of the rollout. Providers should monitor communications closely to ensure compliance and to familiarize themselves with the MES platform’s enhanced authorization workflow.

This integration marks a continued effort by Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services to centralize Medicaid services and bolster digital efficiencies for the IDD provider community.
